Happy New Year and MassMoca

This weekend we took a little road trip to MassMoca, aka the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. I haven't been to the museum in over ten years; it was nice to see how much the building and the surrounding area has grown and developed over the years. I'd been dying to see the Darren Waterston show, 'Filthy Lucre', his re-imagining of Whister's Peacock Room. There was much inspiration to be had in all the crumbling and decaying beauty and decadance. I've been a fan of Waterston's work for years, so it was a real treat to see a bunch of his paintings as well.  The rest of the museum was also filled with all kinds of goodies; the kind of work the museum can exhibit due to it's giant warehouse-sized spaces are really what make it special. Here's to a new year filled with lots of art.
