GTS Update, and some news

So I found out late last week that I didn't make it to the second round of the Lilla Rogers's Global Talent Search contest.  To be honest, I wasn't really surprised.  After I saw all the entries, and especially the ones that made the cut, I see where I went wrong.  I'm still proud of my entry, but the truth is, I'm not a professional illustrator, and my technical skills just aren't up to par.  I knew this going  in, of course, but decided to just go for it and do the best I could.  And at the risk of sounding corny, I really did learn a ton and now know what I would do differently next time. So, onward...

In other news, I also found out that my work is going to be included in an upcoming show that sounds really exciting (OK, this maybe softened the blow a little bit).  It also reminds me that it's good to keep these things in perspective, that one lost opportunity isn't the end of the world.  All I can do is put my work out there in the world, and trust that the right things will come my way.  So as far as that new exciting show is concerned, I will post more about it here as I learn more details.  Stay tuned!
