Opening Reception for Still Life Lives! @the Fitchburg Art Museum!
Today was the opening reception of a show I'm in, Still Life Lives! at the Fitchburg Art Museum. In all honesty, as a shy and introverted person, I can't say I love openings. They can feel a bit awkward, or somewhat anti-climactic. But today's opening was an exception--a really lovely time in a really lovely and underappreciated art gem in Massachusetts. The Fitchburg Art Museum is a great space, and their new staff lineup, including Director Nick Capasso and curator Mary Tinti, have plans to revitalize the Museum and connect with and support regional artists--so, awesome, and a really exciting time to be a part of the whole thing! I also got to see some old friends, meet some of the other artists in the show who's work I have admired for awhile, as well as some new discoveries. The weather even cooperated and gave us a perfect fall New England day.
